The Inaugural Ch8se Choice Awards Celebration

We ch8se waterfalls once a month, every month, without fail. It was time for a celebration. It was not only time for a celebration, but to also acknowledge some of our Tried & True Ch8sers who consistently show up and share their shine. It was time to set aside the hiking boots, toss the hiking poles aside and step out in our hues of blue.

Our event planning began months ago with the collaborative efforts of our behind the scenes ch8se Queen, Camille Prawl-Pettway. I knew it was time for a Ch8sing Waterfalls celebration, and we both knew it had to be an epic experience. With all we poured into it, I'm proud to say the experience was undeniably epic. We orchestrated an evening of spectacular memories at the Lilburn Activity Building.

Entering the venue, each attendee was greeted by our friend Kyella who spontaneously filled the need at the registration desk where each person received their REI gift bag with all of our vendor goodies.

The hallway opened up to photo opp areas with two Ch8se banners, one compliments of She Do Graphics. We each walked the blue carpet, flanked by blue stanchions, greeted by our photographer, Alecia of Lecia Raw Visualz. The blue carpet landed us directly in front of the beautiful backdrop and amazing décor fashioned by KB Ideas Inc, and Camille Prawl-Pettway. We enjoyed an excellent meal prepared by our ch8se brother and outdoor enthusiast, Chef, Roderick Cummings. His presentation was as great as the meal. He did the dang thang, and is the official Ch8se Chef.

Camille was our MC of the night, and she kept the evening flowing. We were ushered into laughter by our comedian friend Carmita Drummond, who did a pretty good job for her first comedic performance. We were encouraged to pay attention by our spoken word artist and vocalist, Yolanda Williams. Her original piece was truly remarkable. Our friends at Peterson's Event Rentals helped us turn up the fun with their 360 photo booth. The photo booth was a huge success, everyone of us absolutely loved it, and it was positioned perfectly in front of the spectacular balloon arch created by our very own Camille. Ya'll she is power packed with all kinds of goodness. Our personal, and favorite DJ, our one and only DJ Kenny Boi, kept our feet to the floor, and danced us out of our heels into bare and sneaker feet. He is the absolute best. Chile he will sweat ya perm out and make you reevaluate your reality.

The mission of the evening was to celebrate the beautiful women who faithfully choose to #Embr8ceTheCh8se by supporting our mission and ch8sing with us every chance they can. Many of the women choose to embr8ce the ch8se every month, and at every event involving Ch8sing Waterfalls. The idea was to celebrate four years of Ch8sing Waterfalls. The assignment was to celebrate this genuine sisterhood, to share our shine, to finally dress up again, to dance our heels off and look good doing it all. My friend, we all understood the assignment. If you have ever heard someone say "you had to be there," and wondered why. If the above pictures don't tell the story, then I don't know what will. The video of DJ Kenny Boi and three of his leading ladies was just a snippet of the fun we had with Peterson Event Rentals 360 photo booth. Needless to say our Inaugural Ch8se Choice Award has set our own bar for 2022. My entire family was there to support me, even my brother Charles and sister in love Yolanda from TN, drove in to be a part of the celebration. My family's support is everything and like always, they showed up for me. I love me some them.

We had some honorable mentions, held our raffle drawing and just as I thought we were ready to hit the dance floor, my SiStar, Vernetta Hill stopped me and presented me with the Ch8sing Waterfalls Humanitarian Award. I was not ready. OMG! I love my Friends, my Ch8sers, My SiStars. They are the absolute best. I am one blessed Ch8se Champ.

There were so many more pictures, and so many countless smiles with unmeasurable joy and laughter. There were memories created December 11, 2021 that will evoke great vibes, big smiles and good feelings of joy for years to come.
