Ch8sing Waterfalls is Celebrating

The First Ever Anniversary Campout at Lula Lake Land Trust

Ch8sing Waterfalls began this journey of healing and inclusion September 17, 2017.  It is time for a celebration.

With the help of our sponsors REI, we are hosting the first Ch8sing Waterfalls, campout experience.  

 We will sleep under the stars in a comfortable "glamping" style tent.

 

The mission of Ch8sing Waterfalls is to empower Black women to embrace healing, and forge diversity outdoors while ch8sing waterfall.

EVENT SOLD OUT!

The Ch8se Campout Will Include:

  • Yoga 

  • Glamping style tent complete with a cot and sleeping bag.  (*limited)

    • Campers can bring their own camping set up.​

  • Swag bag from our event sponsors.

  • Complimentary Beer & Wine.

  • Catered meal (vegan options)

  • Continental Breakfast

  • Outdoor education

  • Special group activity

  • Guided waterfall hike

  • Campfire shenanigans and sista circle.

  • Port-a-potty and outdoor shed

The Ch8se Campout Will NOT Include:

  • Running water

  • Power

  • Shower

Gate Time & Access

  • Our campout is secured on a gated property. 

  • The gate will open at 7:30 a.m. 

  • Please arrive early.

  • There is a strict gate closure time of 8:45 a.m. 

  • Please arrive prior to gate closure at 8:45 for check-in. 

  • There will be no one at the gate after 8:45. 

  • The gate will be locked and there is NO access to the area until 5 p.m. when the day hikers leave.

Though we are excited about our first ever campout, we realize that camping or glamping is not for everyone.  For those of you who wish to celebrate with us, but do not wish to have the full camping experience, we invite you to join the free day celebration.

CAMPING SPACE IS LIMITED!

The day hikers will celebrate with us in our traditional Ch8se fashion with yoga as a bonus.  There will be giveaways during the day hike and an invitation to join in on our Ch8se reflections.  After the ch8se and reflections the day hiker will be accompanied to the gate and exit the celebration at 5pm.

How much is the campout?

$44.40 - Registration deadline is September 4, 2021.

I can't make it, do I get a refund?

50% refunds are available through September 4, 2021.

After September 4, 2021 NO Refunds are available.

What is Ch8sing Waterfalls Covid-19 safety protocol?

  • Participation is limited to maintain a safe group size

  • We ask that guest practice social distancing, or wear masks when social distancing isn’t possible

  • If you are experiencing COVID related symptoms, we ask that you not attend this event.

 

What should I pack if I am camping?

Here are a few suggested items to bring along.

  • *Pack lunch for after the hike.

  • Essential toiletries

  • Layers of clothing for a comfortable night 

  • Your essential medication

  • Full battery & full external phone charger

  • Hiking shoes

  • Sneakers, sandals/water shoes, camp shoes

  • Yoga mat

  • Hiking poles/stick

  • Pillow, blanket, sheet or blanket (optional)

  • Towel

  • Bug spray

  • Insulated cup / thermos

  • Personal fan (optional)

  • Snacks (in sealed container)

  • Headlamps 

  • Poncho 

  • Folding chair

 

What should I pack if I am not camping?

  • Backpack

  • Hiking boots

  • Hiking pole/stick

  • Poncho

  • Lunch & Water/hydration

  • Yoga mat 

  • Bug spray

  • Battery pack for cell phone

I’ve never camped before, what should I expect?

You should expect an amazing time! You may be surprised by how loud the quiet is, but there is nothing like waking up outdoors to the songs of nature. The cool thing is, we will be there as a group, so if you are feeling unsettled, you can find some peace in knowing that there is a community of women around you!

​Lula Lake Land Trust (LLLT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established by the will of Robert M. Davenport in January of 1994. Dedicated to the preservation of lands located within the Rock Creek watershed on Lookout Mountain, the mission of LLLT is to preserve the natural and historic landscapes surrounding Rock Creek and its tributaries through conservation, education, and low-impact recreation.
