About the Event

The Ch8sing Waterfalls caravan will meet at  6:30 a.m. -  Publix Super Market 1625 Pleasant Hill Rd #200, Duluth, GA 30096

We have a 7:00 a.m. sharp, caravan departure.

We will arrive at Tallulah Gorge State Park at 8:30. The address is:  338 Jane Hurt Yarn Rd, Tallulah Falls, GA 30573.

There is a $5 parking fee; covered by Ch8sing Waterfalls.  If you arrive to the park before the caravan, we will reimburse your parking fee, just see our ch8se champion AyJay for your reimbursement.

"Tallulah Gorge’s trails are strenuous, so hydrate before your visit. Bring at least 32 oz. of water if hiking the staircase or gorge floor. Water filling stations and bottled water are available in the interpretive center.

Get ready to be amazed by the beautiful waterfalls, landscape and scenery that is Tallulah George. One of the most spectacular canyons in the eastern U.S., Tallulah Gorge is two miles long and nearly 1,000 feet deep. Visitors can hike rim trails to several overlooks. A suspension bridge sways 80 feet above the rocky bottom, providing spectacular views of the river and waterfalls.

Exhibits in the park's Jane Hurt Yarn Interpretive Center highlight the rich history of this Victorian resort town, as well as the rugged terrain and fragile ecosystem of the area. An award-winning film takes viewers on a dramatic journey through the gorge, including footage of rock climbers and kayakers.

Pack a lunch, ample, hearty snacks and adequate hydration.  We will find a nice spot to sit and have lunch. Bring an empty plastic bag for your trash.  Ch8sing Waterfalls leaves no trace.  Whatever you bring in, you take out.  Pack a small cooler with snacks, ice and extra water for the trip there and back.  Pack more than you think you will need.  It is always better to have and not need than to need and not have.

UPDATE - (3.1.21) Hiking boots are optional for this ch8se.  You will need a backpack with hiking essentials, and emergency medication.  There are OPTIONAL stairs and an OPTIONAL suspension bridge.  The route we are taking does not require the 1000 or so stairs; however, there are roughly 300 stairs total, throughout the entire hike.

Dress appropriately.  Layers are recommended.  This hike is considered mild to moderate, be prepared.  For the ride home, for some, I recommend having ibuprofen ready in your vehicle.  I've noticed that sometimes after a moderate hike, ibuprofen is helpful for the long drive home.

Please be prepared to spend most of your day Embr8cing The Ch8se.  The drive is a round trip of 4-5 hours, the ch8se, including lunch, will be approximately 2-3 hours.  Also factor in the fact that we never rush the experience.  I suggest you not plan an event that will require your attention until late in the evening, better yet, save it until Sunday.

I recommend you download the RoadiD app and have your emergency contacts identified and with you via the app or paper, sealed in a plastic bag, in your backpack.

Thank you for choosing to embr8ce the ch8se with us.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

We look forward to meeting you soon.
