Ch8se Ch. 39 - 1.16.21

The first ch8se of 2021 will take place in South Carolina.

The Ch8sing Waterfalls caravan will meet at  6:30 a.m. -  Publix Super Market 1625 Pleasant Hill Rd #200, Duluth, GA 30096

We have a 7:00 a.m. sharp, caravan departure.

Our secondary Meetup is at 8:30 - Rabun County Welcome Center -10 Seed Tick Road, Clayton GA 30525

We will meet our ch8se lead, and friend Chef Rod at the Rabun County Welcome Center.  From the welcome center, we will drive another thirty minutes or so, to the first waterfall location to begin another awesome adventure.  

The plan is to explore Brasstown Falls, Sids Fall, and Reedy Branch Falls.  Depending on the energy and flow of the morning we may or may not get to explore all three.

You will need to pack a lunch and adequate hydration.  The idea is to find a nice spot to sit and have lunch.  Bring an empty plastic bag for your trash.  We practice the the rule of thumb to leave no trace.  Whatever you bring in, you take out.  Pack a small cooler with snacks, ice and extra water for the trip there and back.

You will need hiking boots, and hiking poles, as well as a backpack with hiking essentials, and emergency medication.

Dress appropriately.  Layers are recommended.  This hike is considered moderate, be prepared.  For the ride home, for some, I recommend having ibuprofen ready in your vehicle.  I've noticed that sometimes after a moderate hike, ibuprofen is helpful for the long drive home. 

I recommend you download the RoadiD app and have your emergency contacts identified and with you via the app or paper, sealed in a plastic bag, in your backpack.
