Ch8sing Waterfalls began this journey of healing and inclusion September 17, 2017.  The mission of Ch8sing Waterfalls is to empower Black & Brown women to embrace healing, and forge diversity outdoors while Ch8sing Waterfalls.  

 

It is time for our 3rd annual campout celebration.

With the help of our sponsors REI, we are hosting our Ch8sing Waterfalls, campout experience.

 

We will sleep under the stars in a private, gated area, as we enjoy healing and fun in a safe space.

The Ch8se Campout Will Include:

Though we are excited about our campout, we realize that camping is not for everyone.  For those of you who choose to celebrate with us, but do not wish to have the full camping experience, we invite you to join our celebration ch8se on Saturday.

The day hikers will celebrate with us in our traditional Ch8se fashion with yoga as a bonus.  There will be giveaways after the day hike, during lunch with an invitation to join in on our Ch8se reflections.  After yoga, the Ch8se, lunch and reflections, the day hiker will be accompanied to the gate and exit the celebration at 4pm.

Gate Time & Access

Our campout is secured on gated property.  Access to the space is limited.

  • The gate will open 12-2pm and 4-6pm. 

  • There is a strict gate closure time of 2pm and 6pm. 

  • Please arrive prior to gate closure at 2pm & 6pm for check-in. 

  • There will be no one at the gate after 2pm, nor after 6pm. 

 

Saturday, August 17, 2022 - Day Ch8sers Access

  • The gate will open at 8am and close promptly at 9am. 

  • Please arrive early.

  • There is a strict gate closure time of 9am. 

  • Please arrive prior to gate closure at 9am for check-in. 

  • There will be no one at the gate after 9am. 

  • There is NO cell signal in the area, so you will not be able to reach us.

  • Please arrive early to ensure entry.

  • The gate will be locked and there is NO access to the area until 4pm when the day hikers leave.

Are you a day hiker looking to join the celebration? This ticket is for you! Join us for the 2024 Ch8serversary festivities with our special day hiker package.

Day hiker ticket includes:

Day hikers must arrive promptly before or at 8am and prior to 9am when the gate closes.  *There is no gate entry after 9am and absolutely no refunds if you miss the gate time.

How much is the campout?

$185 - She So Basic / DIY Tent Camper

$185 - Tent Sista / DIY Tent Camper - for each additional person in your tent.

NO. Refunds are NOT available.  Your donation will support our camp scholarship.  You may transfer your registration to a camper 21+.

What is Ch8sing Waterfalls Covid-19 safety protocol?

  • Participation is limited to maintain a safe group size

  • We ask that guest practice social distancing, or wear masks when social distancing isn’t possible

  • If you are experiencing COVID related symptoms, we ask that you not attend this event.

 

What should I pack if I am camping?

Here are a few suggested items to bring along.

  • Your favorite weekend snacks (in a sealed container).

  • Essential toiletries

  • Layers of clothing for a comfortable night 

  • Your essential medication

  • Full battery & full external phone charger

  • Hiking shoes

  • Sneakers, sandals/water shoes, camp shoe

  • Hiking poles/stick

  • Pillow, blanket, sheet or blanket (optional)

  • Towel

  • Bug spray

  • Insulated cup / thermos

  • Personal fan (optional)

  • Headlamp / flashlight 

  • Poncho 

  • Folding chair

  • Garbage bag (s)

  • Grocery bag for muddy shoes

 

What should I pack if I am not camping?

  • Backpack

I’ve never camped before, what should I expect?

You should expect an amazing time! You may be surprised by how loud the quiet is, but there is nothing like waking up outdoors to the songs of nature. The cool thing is, we will be there as a group, so if you are feeling unsettled, you can find some peace in knowing that there is a community of women around you!

​Lula Lake Land Trust (LLLT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established by the will of Robert M. Davenport in January of 1994. Dedicated to the preservation of lands located within the Rock Creek watershed on Lookout Mountain, the mission of LLLT is to preserve the natural and historic landscapes surrounding Rock Creek and its tributaries through conservation, education, and low-impact recreation.
