Ch8sing Waterfalls began this journey of healing and inclusion September 17, 2017.  The mission of Ch8sing Waterfalls is to empower Black & Brown women to embrace healing, and forge diversity outdoors while ch8sing waterfall.  

 

It is time for our 2nd annual campout  celebration.

With the help of our sponsors REI, we are hosting our Ch8sing Waterfalls, campout experience.

 

We will sleep under the stars in a private, gated area, as we enjoy healing and fun in a safe space.

EVENT SOLD OUT!

The Ch8se Campout Will Include:

  • Glamping style tent complete with a cot and sleeping bag for 2 people (*limited)

    • Campers can bring their own camping set up

  • Swag bag from our event sponsors

  • Custom anniversary t-shirt

  • Continental Breakfast

  • Outdoor hang time

  • Special group activity

  • Guided waterfall hike

The Ch8se Campout Will NOT Include:

Gate Time & Access

Our campout is secured on gated property.  Access to the space is limited.

 

Friday, August 12, 2022

  • The gate will open 12-2pm and 4-6pm. 

  • There is a strict gate closure time of 2pm and 6pm. 

  • Please arrive prior to gate closure at 2pm & 6pm for check-in. 

  • There will be no one at the gate after 2pm, nor after 6pm. 

 

Saturday, August 13, 2022 - Day Ch8sers Access

  • The gate will open at 8am and close promptly at 9am. 

  • Please arrive early.

  • There is a strict gate closure time of 9am. 

  • Please arrive prior to gate closure at 9am for check-in. 

  • There will be no one at the gate after 9am. 

  • The gate will be locked and there is NO access to the area until 4pm when the day hikers leave.

Though we are excited about our campout, we realize that camping or glamping is not for everyone.  For those of you who choose to celebrate with us, but do not wish to have the full camping experience, we invite you to join our celebration ch8se on Saturday.

CAMPING SPACE IS LIMITED!

The day hikers will celebrate with us in our traditional Ch8se fashion with yoga as a bonus.  There will be giveaways during the day hike and an invitation to join in on our Ch8se reflections.  After the ch8se and reflections the day hiker will be accompanied to the gate and exit the celebration at 4pm.

$75 - for each additional person in your tent.

Hey camp officianato! So you already have your gear and just need to pull up.  We got you. You bring all your gear, and we will have the perfect spot ready for you to pitch your tent! You will have access to the same amenities as the glampers.  You will also enjoy all of the weekend festivities and be included in each of the giveaway opportunities.

$200 - REI Glamping Setup - 2 people per tent.

Hey friend!  You are ready to camp; and want to take this camping experience for a spin before you invest in the gear, we got you too.  The glamping setup is for you.  You will have access to all of the campsite amenities.  You will njoy all of the weekend festivities and be included in each of the giveaway opportunities.

$75 - Saturday Night DIY (Bring your own setup)

$50 - for each additional person in your tent.

I can't make it, do I get a refund?

50% refunds are available through July 5, 2022

After July 5, 2022 NO Refunds are available, your donation will support our camp scholarship.  Thank you.

What is Ch8sing Waterfalls Covid-19 safety protocol?

  • Participation is limited to maintain a safe group size

  • We ask that guest practice social distancing, or wear masks when social distancing isn’t possible

  • If you are experiencing COVID related symptoms, we ask that you not attend this event.

 

What should I pack if I am camping?

Here are a few suggested items to bring along.

  • *Pack lunch for after the hike.

  • Pack snacks.

  • Essential toiletries

  • Layers of clothing for a comfortable night 

  • Your essential medication

  • Full battery & full external phone charger

  • Hiking shoes

  • Sneakers, sandals/water shoes, camp shoe

  • Hiking poles/stick

  • Pillow, blanket, sheet or blanket (optional)

  • Towel

  • Bug spray

  • Insulated cup / thermos

  • Personal fan (optional)

  • Snacks (in sealed container)

  • Headlamps 

  • Poncho 

  • Folding chair

 

What should I pack if I am not camping?

  • Backpack

  • Hiking boots

  • Lunch & water/hydration

I’ve never camped before, what should I expect?

You should expect an amazing time! You may be surprised by how loud the quiet is, but there is nothing like waking up outdoors to the songs of nature. The cool thing is, we will be there as a group, so if you are feeling unsettled, you can find some peace in knowing that there is a community of women around you!

Dedicated to the preservation of lands located within the Rock Creek watershed on Lookout Mountain, the mission of LLLT is to preserve the natural and historic landscapes surrounding Rock Creek and its tributaries through conservation, education, and low-impact recreation.
