About the Event
Meetup: 5:45 a.m. with a 6:00a.m. departure!
Location: Publix, Promenade, 1625 Pleasant Hill Rd Ste 200, Duluth, GA 30096
Sis, we will not wait for you, please arrive early or by 6a.m.; otherwise, meet us at the trailhead (5315 Lake Rabun Rd, Lakemont, GA 30552) by 8:00 a.m.
Trail Difficult: This is a moderately challenging hike! 2.5 miles out and back. Elevation gain is 410ft. Recent rain has many areas very muddy, slippery and covered in fallen leaves! Exposed roots and rocks cover majority of the trail. There are several water crossings, some with bridges and others require walking in the creek. (Please plan accordingly by wearing waterproof boots and/or waterproof socks.) A section of the hike is very steep, narrow and is roped. Be prepared to get your feet wet!

Amenities: None at the Trailhead. Bring your P-Style, GoGirl, or Freshette to use the faciliTrees as needed. *Deb prefers the P-Style. If you purchase one, practice in the shower prior to hitting the trail.
What to Bring * Check out our partners REI's Day Hike:2 Hours or Less Packing List to help you prepare. NO, you will not need everything on this list; however, this is a great point of reference.
- Hiking sticks, and waterproof boots are highly recommended.
- A pair of dry socks and shoes (leave in your vehicle to change into.)
- Water, water, water
- Please start to hydrate on Friday by drinking extra fluids. Your body will appreciate this during the hike.
- Please wear hiking boots.
- Bring hiking poles.
- Bring water and or Gatorade to drink during the hike. We cannot express how important it is to stay hydrated
- If you do not wear a RoadiD please have your emergency contact information sealed in a zip lock bag and placed where it can easily be located if an emergency should occur.
- Pack your lunch and something to sit on.
- Please dress for the weather and wear hiking boots.
