Ch. 56 - Embr8ce The Ch8se

We will meet at 7:30am at Ingles 5055 Cherokee St. Acworth, Ga. 30101.

We will meet at 9:30 at the trailhead of Foster Falls at 498 Foster Falls Rd, Sequatchie, TN 37374.

This hike is strenuous.  It is very rocky (lots of large boulders) and pretty strenuous climb up those boulders for about a half mile. 

Hiking poles and sticks are highly recommended. *

Elevation Gain - 528ft. 2.8miles round trip. Loop Trail Terrain is tree roots, loose rocks, man made wooden steps and some are loose. A portion of the terrain that is on an incline has large boulders only. Hiking poles and sticks with the rubber caps are highly recommended. *

There is no parking fee.

There is a restroom.

This hike will be challenging for beginners going uphill on the boulders but there are flat areas to stop and catch breath and re-group. Some areas of the trail are close to the mountain edge but nothing impassable. *

All attendees should bring:  Hiking boots or sturdy bottom shoes (waterproof if you have)  

Rain jacket/poncho  

Trekking poles (optional but recommended)  

Packable lunch + 2L+ water  

Essential medications + first-aid items (insect bite/sting/itch ointment, pain relief)  

Bug spray  

Personal items like female urinal (like Freshette), Kula Cloth or wipes. 

You must "pack out" what you bring in.  

External, backup phone charger  

Other comfort items.

There is a covered picnic table area that would have to be reserved and paid for our group to use. However, there are other picnic tables in the area we could utilize. Participants can bring ground cover or chairs to sit on as the parking lot is near the tables. Also bring good snacks as we will stop at a designated location and eat to fuel ourselves for the climb. *
